The perspective projects in the field of the industry have been submitted to the Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev within the presidential commission on modernization of economy. There has been presented a development of residents of Smolensk.

The meeting of the working group on cooperation of Republic of Belarus and Smolensk region has taken place in Vitebsk.

Within the visit to Dorogobuzhskiy district the plenipotentiary of the President of Russia in Central Federal District Alexander Beglov together with the Governor of the Smolensk region Alexey Ostrovskiy has visited PJSC Dorogobuzh (the group of companies Acron) which is one of the largest Russian producers of mineral fertilizers.

Within the working visit to Smolensk region the plenipotentiary of the President of Russia in the Central Federal District Alexander Beglov together with the Governor of the region Alexey Ostrovskiy has held a meeting during which the prospects of development of the monotown of Dorogobuzh as the territory of the advancing social and economic development were discussed.

Under the chairmanship of the Governor of Smolensk region Alexey Ostrovskiy the meeting on the prospects of development of light industry of Smolensk region has taken place in Vyazma. The State-Secretary – Deputy Minister of the Industry and Trade of Russia Victor Evtukhov, the CEO of the Russian Union of tanners and shoemakers Aleksandra Andrunakiyevich, heads and specialists of leading enterprises of light industry of the region have taken part in the meeting.

Within a working trip to the Vyazma district the Governor of Smolensk region Alexey Ostrovskiy has taken part in opening of a new dyeing and fat-liquoring plant floor at the skinnery. The head of the region together with Victor Evtukhov, the State-Secretary/Deputy Minister of the Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, has examined work of the enterprise and has communicated with labor collective.

The first interregional forum on the information security “IT WALL” organized with assistance of Department of investment development of Smolensk region, Corporation of investment development of the region and the Cluster of information technologies takes place in Smolensk.

The Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation has supported the initiative of the Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy about creation of ANO The Center of Business Support of Smolensk Region and appropriation for its work. More than 4,2 million rubles will be directed to these purposes from the federal budget.

Smolensk region has participated in a competition on granting a subsidy of the Ministry of Economic Development for creation and development of autonomous nonprofit organization “The Center of Coordination of Support of the Export Focused Subjects of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises of Smolensk Region” (The CES). By results of the competitive selection in 2017 the region will receive 12,5 million rubles on these purposes.

For the third year in a row Smolensk region becomes the winner within the direction «Granting Subsidies for Joint Financing of Capital Investments in Objects of State Ownership of Subjects of the Russian Federation and Municipal Property».

In 2016 LLC Bryansk Meat Company entering into the agro-industrial holding Miratorg has created more than 1500 new workplaces within the interregional project of expansion of production of high-quality beef in a number of regions including Smolensk. Thus the company has increased staff up to 6236 employees.

The working visit of the deputy Governor of Smolensk region Rostislav Rovbel has taken place on the new investment platform of LLC RozTekh (the trademark Wild Orchid) which is located in Roslavl.

Tax holidays have begun to act on Smolensk region for realization of the orders of the Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy concerning the support of business activity and improvement of business climate.
