A visiting meeting was held by the representatives of the Department for Economic Development of the Smolensk region in the Administration of the Verkhnedneprovsky settlement, Dorogobuzh district, on 26 September 2014.

In accordance with the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of 29 July 2014 No.1398-р “On confirmation of the list of mono-specialized municipal entities (monotowns) of the Russian Federation” there is one monotown on the territory of the Smolensk region, namely, the Verkhnedneprovsky urban-type settlement. The Government of the Russian Federation together with the Administration of the Smolensk Region pays particular attention to monitoring the social and economic development as well as to the investment projects implementation and entrepreneurs support in monotowns.

Such significant issues as a complex monitoring of the social and economic development, updating the list of investment projects and efficiency assessment of the entrepreneurial support in the monotown were raised at the meeting.

Members of the Administrations of both the Dorogobuzh district and the Verkhnedneprovsky settlement as well as representatives of commercial enterprises operating in the monotown participated in the meeting.
