On April 15th, 2014 the specialists of the Department of Economic Development of the Smolensk Region organised a visiting meeting with the representatives of Llc “Krol & K’’, Llc “Gagarin-Ostankino”, Llc “Egger Drevprodukt Gagarin”, ZAO “Agricultural company “Nasha Zhitnitsa” which implement the investment projects in the Gagarinsky District.

The investment project of Llc “Krol & K” is aimed at the construction of a rabbit breeding complex based on the latest technologies and achievements in rabbit breeding, genetics and selection, slaughter, disposal of waste meeting the international standards and ecological requirements.

The project also includes the construction of a farm with slaughtering facilities, meat processing and mixed feed production. The construction of the farm is on its final stage, the investor has purchased the necessary technological, packing and refrigerating equipment. The first rabbits have already been brought. Llc “Krol & K” is going to receive the status of a rabbit breeding farm and focus its activity on roe rabbits breeding.

The investment project of Llc “Gagarin-Ostankino” includes the construction of a meat processing plant with the production capacity of 2 000 tons of pork per shift. At present the investor has finished the construction of a meat and bone scraps production line, the administrative building, the production facilities. The investor is performing interior finishing works, connection to the engineering networks and assembly of equipment. The pre-commissioning works are scheduled for the 3d quarter of 2014, by 2015 the summer sausage plant will have been put into operation with the capacity of 50 tons per diem.

The project of Llc “Egger Drevprodukt Gagarin” on production of laminated chip board (KT 4) includes the construction of production facilities with all necessary infrastructure. At present the construction works are nearly finished. In March the first press equipment of a short production cycle for double sided coating of chip board, MDM, compact board and impregnated with melamine resin paper will be delivered. The commissioning is planned for September, 2014. Llc “Egger Drevprodukt Gagarin” is also going to open a new production line for impregnation of decorative paper. The investor is constructing new production facilities, the necessary equipment will have been purchased and assembled by the end of 2014. The new line will help to substitute the paper produced by other companies with the locally produced materials.

ZAO “Agricultural company “Nasha Zhitnitsa” is implementing the investment project on the development of plant growing facilities and construction of a modern complex for storage and conditioning of grain. The company is going to start cultivating 8 000 ha of fallow lands to produce commercial grain and high energy feed. Autumn sown cereals take up 1500 ha while spring sown cereals occupy 2 000 ha. The second part of the project is aimed at the construction of modern facilities for storage and conditioning of grain. The granary, the elevators, the warehouse for chemicals and fertilizers, the administrative building and a garage are under construction at the moment.
