Putin signed the amendments to the federal law simplifying the acquisition of the RF citizenship by investors and entrepreneursThe President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed the amendments to the federal law issued on 31.05.2002 № 62-ФЗ “On the citizenship of the Russian Federation”, adopted by the State Duma of the Russian Federation on June 11, 2014 and the Federation Council of the Russian Federation on June 18, 2014. The new amendments simplify the acquisition of the RF citizenship for investors and individual entrepreneurs working in the territory of the Russian Federation.
In accordance with the amendments to Article 14 of the Federal law “on citizenship of the Russian Federation” individual entrepreneurs, working in the country not less than three years and having the annual income which is not lower than 10 mln rubles earned from the marketing of goods or providing services (in the economic activities stated by the government of RF) may apply for the RF citizenship.
The procedure of the RF citizenship acquisition is also simplified for the investors who have a share of not less than 10% in the charter capital of a Russian legal entity (working in the RF territory in the spheres stated by the RF Government), on condition that the charter capital and the volume of net assets are not less than 100mln rubles or the amount of taxes paid by the legal entity in Russia with compulsory insurance payments is not lower than 6 mln rubles a year for the last three or more years.
