Smolensk region appeared on the fifth line in the rating of the regions of the Russian Federation on the degree of the competitive intensity and condition of the competitive environment for last year which was made at the request of the president of Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS).
In the rating high positions are taken by the regions with the most intensive, but thus fair competition. Novosibirsk region is on the first place, Moscow is on the second, Ryazan region is on the third, St. Petersburg is on the forth place. Astrakhan region, Tambov region and the Republic of Tyva are in outsiders.
As it is specified in the report of FAS, the rating was formed on the basis of four criteria: quantity (including gains and losses) of the enterprises, number of violation’s complaints to FAC, condition of the product markets and inquiry of businessmen about a condition of the competition.
According to the head of the agency of political and economic communications Dmitriy Orlov which give «News», the rating shows, «as far as the region is good for business, and this work is not only of antimonopoly service, but also of the head of the region».
