27.06.2016 In autumn Austrian company will launch the largest MDF plant in Smolensk region

Acting Governor of Smolensk region Alexey Ostrovskiy has held a working meeting with representatives of a group of companies EGGER (Republic of Austria) on which prospects for further cooperation and collaborative mechanism with the largest investor were considered.

The subsidiary enterprise of group of companies EGGER (Republic of Austria) which is among the world leading companies on wood processing and makes products on 18 production enterprises in seven countries of Europe, LLC «EGGER DREVPRODUCT GAGARIN», is located in the territory of Gagarinskiy district. The core business is production and lamination of wood particle boards.

In 2015 the enterprise has started implementation of a new investment project «Construction of MDF Plant» which will become the largest in Europe. The total amount of investments will make more than 16 billion rubles including VAT.

Nowadays 13 billion rubles are invested into economy of the region and 190 new workplaces are created. The press, the rub line and the laminating line work in the test mode.

During the meeting the parties have discussed questions of implementation on investing activities of the enterprise, and also a procedure for granting tax exemptions to the investors who have realized priority investment projects.

- We have already finished the construction of production line of MDF, medium density fiberboard. In the near future we plan to construct the railroad, the lamination line which will promote creation of a bigger number of workplaces, - according to the finance director of group of companies EGGER and the board member Thomas Liesing. - EGGER has a lot of business contacts, we communicate with our European partners. They as well as we are sure that Smolensk region is a very attractive region for implementation of investing activities.

Nowadays Smolensk region can give unique opportunities and conditions for business to the business partners. Soon the territory of advancing development in Dorogobuzhskiy district will be created in the territory of the region. As Alexey Ostrovskiy has noted that Dorogobuzhskiy district is the unique territory with such status in the Central Federal District. Today Dorogobuzh is recognized as the monotown.
