The Director of the Department of investment development of Smolensk region Rostislav Rovbel has held a working meeting with representatives of the Euroasian Business Union (EABU) at which the parties have discussed possibilities of interaction of the enterprises of Smolensk region with the main food platform of the country FOOD CITY (Moscow).
The Smolensk party has expressed interest in expansion of sales market of regional production in Moscow and on space of the Eurasian Business Union. During the meeting agreements which will open new prospects for development of trade partnership with Moscow have been reached.
- Moscow is one of the largest food markets of Russia, but it is quite difficult to our enterprises to break through on the capital markets and in retail networks. The Smolensk agricultural producers are forced to be engaged in search of these opportunities independently. We understand that system regional support is necessary therefore we are looking for new points of growth for development in this direction, - Rostislav Rovbel has emphasized.
The agrocluster FOOD CITY is the largest wholesale and retail food center of Russia. Today the turnover of goods in an agrocluster makes 1,8 million tons per year or five thousand tons per day.
