07.11.2016 It has been discussed the prospects of cooperation between Smolensk region and Republic of Belarus

At the working meeting the results of cooperation between Republic of Belarus and Smolensk region were summarized by the Deputy Governor of the region Rostislav Rovbel and the Head of office of Embassy of Belarus in Russia in the city of Smolensk Czeslaw Shulga.

During the meeting Rostislav Rovbel has emphasized that Republic of Belarus is one of the main economic partners of Smolensk region.

- We actively cooperate with the Belarusian side in the most different spheres, and it is essential. Joint venture companies work in our region, active work with our partners from Republic of Belarus is conducted, and we count on further interaction and new joint projects which will influence positive dynamics of economic growth of Smolensk region, - Rostislav Rovbel has emphasized.

In addition, the parties have exchanged opinions on possible points of growth of cooperation on the near-term outlook. The participants of the meeting have mentioned implementation of joint projects on the closed soil, flax cultivation, and also creation of a transport and logistics hub. Special attention during discussion has been paid to possible localization of machine-building productions of Belarus in the territory of Smolensk region.
