17.11.2016 There has been discussed the cooperation between Smolensk region and Republic of Belarus

Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy has held a working meeting with the Secretary of State of the common state Grigoriy Rapota who has arrived to Smolensk region for participation in the 47th session of the board of Border committee of the Common State.

During the meeting the parties have discussed the interaction of Russia and Republic of Belarus, having emphasized need of adjustment of even more effective business, cultural connections between the states, in particular, by means of development of Smolensk region. At the same time the emphasis has been placed on cooperation of our border areas with Vitebsk and Mogilev regions of Republic of Belarus.

Grigoriy Rapota has noted that the leaders of the Common State pay special attention to border areas both with Russian and Belarusian sides from the point of view of development of their infrastructure and investment activity.

Alexey Ostrovskiy has told about the active investment policy which is realized in the region including, with involvement of the representatives of large foreign business investing means in the sphere of the industry, woodworking and logistics.

Also at the meeting the questions devoted to rendering assistance to the Smolensk producers on sale of the production in the territory of Republic of Belarus were brought up.
