The working meeting under the chairmanship of the deputy Governor of Smolensk region Rostislav Rovbel and the Minister of Agriculture of Hungary Sándor Fazekas has taken place on the basis of the enterprise OJSC Smolenskoye in Smolensk. Representatives of authorities, business community and agricultural branch of two countries have participated in an action.
At the meeting there have been discussed the prospects of cooperation in the agrosphere and possible instruments of stimulation of investment activity between Hungary and Smolensk region.
Rostislav Rovbel has greeted the audience on behalf of the Governor of Smolensk region Alexey Ostrovskiy and has noted that Smolensk region is ready to active interaction and exchange of experience with the Hungarian colleagues.
Sándor Fazekas has emphasized that the Hungarian side regards Russia as priority partner and is interested in close cooperation with Smolensk region.
During the meeting the Smolensk party has acquainted the Hungarian colleagues with the capacity of the region in the sphere of agriculture: the prospects of development have been designated and the key directions for interaction are allocated.
The Hungarian partners have highly appreciated achievements of the enterprise JSC Smolenskoye for breeding work and have noted the prospects of development in the sphere of breeding livestock production. Sergey Tarasov, the representative of the company Hunland Kft., specializing in import and export of animals, has told attendees about the joint Russian-Hungarian project of creation of a complex which is already realized in the territory of Russia on cultivation of growth of young breeder and has expressed interest in implementation of the similar project in Smolensk region.
The director of the Smolensk company Bobrovo Marina Zhukova has told about the project on cultivation of corn in the territory of Smolensk region. The company Woodstock Kft., one of the world's largest suppliers of seeds of sunflower and corn, has shown interest in cooperation in joint implementation of this project.
The deputy state secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture of Hungary Zsolt Feldman has told that in recent years Hungary has made big technological leap and serious genetic and engineering work at the enterprises became a key of success in development of the branch. Considerable achievements in the agricultural sphere have affected on development of the food industry of the country. The parties have agreed about exchange of experience in a number of branches of agriculture and production of food.
Also at the meeting the question of development of partnership of the Smolensk state agricultural academy with Hungary in the fields of education and sciences has been considered.
